INKA JUNGLE 05 DAYS RAFTING BIKING TREKKING ITINERARY


Day 01:Cusco - Pachar - Ollantaytambo:
We will pick you up from your hotel in the morning to take you to the sacred valley of the incas and the Urubamba river.
First, our rafting gide will give the instructions about the use of the equipment and safety.
Then, we will start our rafting trip for around 3 hours enjoying the landscape. On the way we will see an inka site just aside the river.
After our rafting trip we will enjoy a delicious lunch and then, go to Ollantaytambo town. We will spend the first night in this town in a hostal.

Day 02: Ollantaytambo - Abra Malaga - Santa Maria:

After breakfast in Ollantaytambo, our Private transport will take us to a higher altitude until we reach the Malaga High Pass at 4,325 m. or 14,000 Ft. We will go a little further and then the guide will give you some instructions about the path, the bikes and use of the equipment.
We will bike down more than 1000 metres over an 80 km trail similar to the one in Coroico (Bolivia). Starting in the highland we will reach the jungle by the end of the day. On the way we stop to have our box lunch close to an Inka site called Wamanmarka. This place will be a nice introduction to Machu Picchu.
During the way you will see how the landscape changes quickly until you get to the jungle close to the little town of Santa Maria were we have our second overnight in a hostal . (B, L, D).

Day 03: Santa Maria - Santa Rosa - Inka Jungle Trail - Cocalmayo Hot Springs -Santa Teresa:

A full day trekking starts after breakfast leading to Santa Rosa town.
After this town we will get into the jungle by taking an ancient Inca trail (Q apaqñan) that has been almost forgotten. Walking here will make you feel like an explorer. Part of this trail is very narrow. All the way we will be in beautiful jungle and with some luck we will see parrots and monkeys. There are nice landscapes to photograph with different kinds of plants and eventually we will encounter the local people.
After lunch we can enjoy the hot springs of Cocalmayo on the way to Santa Teresa. When we reach Santa Teresa we stay there the third night in another hostal with hot water and private bathroom. There will be time to relax while we wait for dinner. (B, L, D).

Day 04: Santa Teresa - Lucmabamba - Inka Jungle trail - Llactapata - Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town):

After a delicious breakfast we continue our trekking going to Aguas Calientes. Driving the first part, close to Lucmabamba, we start our trek on another Inka Trail (Qapaqñan) that has the beauty of being not too long discovered (it has been just discovered in 2003). Taking this jungle trail we will visit the archaeological remains of Llactapata and from there we will be able to see the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu from behind, the main sacred mountains af Huaynapicchu, Putucusi and the snow-capped mountain Salkantay.

After our box lunch we will begin our descent towards the hydroelectric station where we will take the train bound for the town of Aguas Calientes.
In this town you will have time to rest, explore the town on your own or go to the hot springs.
Night in a hostel with private bath and hot shower (B, BL).

Day 05: Machupicchu - Cusco:

This last day we need to wake up early in the morning at 5:00 am to have breakfast and then go to take the bus up to the Archaeological site of Machu Picchu. Inside the site the guide will take you around showing and explaining everything you wish about this beautiful area.
You will have lots of free time to explore the Machu Picchu ruins on your own or try to climb the Huayna Picchu Mountain also. In the afternoon we take the bus to Aguas Calientes and from there we will get the train to Ollantaytambo. In Ollantaytambo a transport will be waiting to take us back to Cusco where we end this fantastic tour. (B).
