ACTIVITIES:
ITINERARY COLCA CANYON TREK
Day 01 Arequipa - Cabanaconde
 Pick up from the hotel at 03:30 am in private car. We follow the northern motorway surrounding the Chachani Volcano and afterwards we are going to enter the National Reserve of Salinas y Aguada Blanca and continue then our way to Colca Valley. We arrive at Cabanaconde in the morning and have time for breakfast.
After breakfast we leave Cabanaconde to start our trekking into the Canyon. It is going to take about 3 hours to get the bottom of the canyon and the place called San Juan de chuccho where we will spend the night. (B, L, D).
Day 02 San Juan de Chucho – Tapay – Coshñirhua – Sangalle
After breakfast, we continue along the other side of the canyon passing through the picturesque villages of Tapay, Coshñirgua and Malata, all of them offer you nice views of the mountains and farms.
We walk about 5 hours to arrive at Sangalle, a semi -tropical place full of vegetation. You will find a nice swimming pool where you can relax your muscles. We have lunch here and a free afternoon to enjoy the place.
Dinner and overnight in bungalows. (B, L, D).
Day 03 Sangalle – Cabanaconde – Arequipa
Today we start our three hours trek uphill to Cabanaconde so we need to wake up very early. Those who are feeling very tired have the option of making the ascent by mule.
At 9:00 am we get to Cabanaconde and enjoy a delicious breakfast after the trek.
Continue our journey we will stop in Tapay viewpoint to see the canyon and the little villages where we were the last days during the trekking.
After some stops on the way to see the valley and preinca terraces we will arrive to Chivay where we can visit La Calera and enjoy the hot springs. We have lunch in Chivay and then we take the bus passing through the National reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca. We are back to Arequipa at approximately at 6:00 pm (B).
