ACTIVITIES:

HUCHUY QOSQO HORSERIDING ITINERARY
Day 01: Cusco - X zone - Qoricocha lake - Pucamarca town - Huchuy Qosqo
We will pick up you from your hotel in the morning and take you close to Sacsayhuaman Ruins where we will visit the called X zone. It is a sacred site where giant stones where taken from to build Sacsayhuaman and other site; here there are as well subterranean paths. We will continue by horse following the trail up over the 4000 meters and into high open country. On the way, we will pass by the beautiful Lake Qoricocha (Golden Lake in Quechua). We’ll continue along this rustic trail, eventually arriving at the highest point of the trek, 4350 meter, with its stellar views of the surrounding mountain ranges. The last part of the day will be a descend througth the Pucamarca community (4010 meters) before arriving to Huchuy Qosqo (Little Cusco). Here, we’ll set up camp and enjoy the scenery of the Sacred Valley, watching different valleys ans mountains. The horses will go back home.(1BL, 1D)
Day 02: Huchuy Qosqo - Lamay - Cusco
After breakfast in Huchuy Qosqo, we will visit this archaeological. Huchuy Qosqo archaeological site is inaccessible by public road making this amazing complex the perfect place to feel in touch with the nature and the incas time. Huchuy Qosqo was originally an administrative center like Pisac, and like Pisac, it also has Inca buildings made of stone and there is even one which has a great example of Inca style perfectly fitting stones. In the hillsides, we will also see some granaries because it was also an important agricultural center. We will visi all this complex during the morning and then we will trek down to the Sacred Valley and getting the town of Lamay. Our transport will take us back to Cusco in the afternoon. (1 B, 1BL)
